Our Showroom
In 1936 Montague Burton completed the construction of our beautiful Art Deco building in Altrincham, Cheshire, by which time he’d completed over 500 other buildings across the UK, all housing the Burton Brand which had become the largest fashion retailer in the world. Since then the building, and most importantly the ground floor shop, has been many things and the fashions of each era have not been kind to its original features, many of which were either destroyed or covered over. Despite this, we fell in love with the building and in 2018 we began to restore, uncover and replace as much as we could, returning it to its former glory. We wanted to bring its beauty back to Stamford New Road, so that we could display our collection of furniture, lighting and accessories in a setting that befitted the greatest design brands in the world.
The showroom was completed in March 2019 and opened with the most comprehensive display of Porro, Living Divani and Flos in the UK. These brands were set together with a curated collection of pieces by Carl Hansen, Moooi, E15, When Objects Work, Cassina, Gubi, Knoll, Vitra, Marset and Tom Dixon. Our showroom could never be large enough to show every piece of design by these companies, but it is a representation of our aesthetic, a starting point of a discussion and a journey for our clients.
Our knowledge spans over 30 years and we have exhibited our design work at the great design fairs in London, Paris, Milan and New York. Our interior projects range from a single piece to a complete house from the ground up – whatever the size of your requirement it is treated with equal excitement and commitment, and the starting point is our showroom.
Our aim for our clients is to ensure that the investment they are making is the right one. If you are buying a sofa, we will draw it up in your room and ensure it is correct in configuration and size. If you are buying a light, we will ensure it is visually balanced in the space. If you are buying an armchair, table, bed or in fact anything, we will give you as much or as little advice as you need or want. We are not an average shop – the service you will receive will be exceptional and personal. Quite simply we love design, we live design, it is our life.
